How to train a dog to shed antler hunting?

I've been reading that you can train your dogs on the hunt for antlers shed and there are people who can train their dogs to sniff ships. How do you do that with a Border Collie?

This does not answer your question, but I'll give you a warning. Once the dog gets a Wiff of deer and get praise for it, it will run out of deer. So unless you have several thousand acres and are well the dog did not come home for a week (if ever) I will not train shed hunting.
