Invisible dog fence, but not underground!?

Recently I bought the kit for a tutor (PetSafe) Close to metro, plus additional options and wire as needed. My backyard is 300 feet long and 90 meters wide, wood fence on three sides. The fourth side is my home. My dogs in digging. This is to do what the do not have time to dig in about bass! I'm not going to put it underground except at the gates, it would be a hassle to find the problem if there was a division somewhere. I would like to attach to the wooden fence and am considering building staples. I am a girl 130 pounds any muscle. I have no electric stapler. I only had to use it to put new shingles on our roof. Any other ideas viable? Or should I just have money and do it in portions until my arm is dying?

You can use smaller nails and a hammer. It is so difficult in reality. Take a little time. I did the same with mine. I attached my existing fence and dug a trench in the door. I have 1 / 3 of an acre. Besides, I am a woman, man. and fat. It only took me half a day and several thousand bad words (hit my thumb with the hammer).
