King snakes are good pets for semi-beginner? Do they have the same requirements as base ball pythons?
The ball python I have gives me no problem, come perfect, sheds great and is very docile. I have slight problems with the heat, noly I can get about 80 degrees F, but I could buy a lamp Additional or two. And I would put them in the same cage. Do the same basic requirements?
I have two rat snakes, which are close relatives of maize and king snakes. , But are not needed heat. I've had my male for five years and my wife for four years in December. They have never had the heat on them and are perfectly healthy. Ball pythons, anacondas, reticulated pythons, boas common, and several other species OJ heat needed. But the king snakes need heat. I also used to work for a breeder, who has been raising snakes of all types and sizes for over thirty years, and never use the heat in their kings, corns, snakes and rats.
