Need help choosing the right dog breed. Can you help?

In the morning around 8 am going to school, and my parents go to work. A lunch, my mother usually comes home for lunch, so they could then give the dog some food and left in the garden. I come home at 4, and I can take it for a long walk. We have a fairly large house and a garden of good size. We live in a pleasant place with parks and things. So the dog has a nice place to walk. The dog has to be good with children (I have a year-old brother of 5) requires an average amount of exercise, do not shed too much, is smart enough and a great teammate. I have read a lot about dogs on the internet and have come to some. Please let me know about other dogs that might like me and comment on which I selected.
