Do I need planning permission in an AONB?
I want to put a shed type building in a field in my work. Not too big – a "field Housing ", used to horses / ponies that ideal. 3 parts of wood and a roof right. I know that normally if this is a temporary" structure " or "mobile" does not need planning permission. (I've seen Field Shelters can be purchased that are in "skate" so theoretically can be towed around a field to be re-located, therefore, not a permanent structure) I know that if you put a structure like this in a concrete base, or integrating on the floor anyway, is not classified as "mobile" or "temporary", and so has the planning for the consequences. Also I will make an area of semi-hard standing next to this structure, which can be extended under it as a basis. This will be of stone gravel. What would require (or not) require planning permission? Is what I said above correct or not?
Yes, what you say is more or less correct – If the building is permanently fixed, ie with a base, then is the development for which planning permission is required, regardless of size. The building would be in agriculture / equestrian land, so the building must be for that purpose, otherwise, it is a major change of use of land. Whether it is probable that planning permission depends on the policies of their local planning authority – Local Plan review on its website. If the land is within the Green Belt, the only structure that must provide essential facilities and is up to you to justify that is not greater than is absolutely essential. Aware of the location within an AONB, the field should be worth preserving, so it is important to pay particular attention to the design and location of the building.
