Why are there so many "extra" words in Chinese?
I was watching a music video of a Chinese song, which had the letter in Chinese and English runs through it, and I realized that when there were three words in English, there were like seven in Chinese! I had the opportunity to choose a few words, and it seems that the word "try" was two (one syllable) words. Why is this? Any grammatical rules that can shed light on (Wǒ) is used to "I" and 们 (men) is used to pluralize pronouns (with the "I" in "us"). The word different.
