You should not use brush long hair around the cats – you need to use a comb. Brushes do little to remove loose hair and layer can be removed and broken hair topcoat. A quality steel good comb teeth gently to remove loose hairs of the coat and leave intact the top layer. My Persian, Percy totally burned his winter coat.
