How can I remove rust from tools?

Hello, I've been cleaning my nans shed and found many of my old tools grandads. Some go back to World War 2 and most are 60 and 70. Most of them have a heavy amount of rust on them and some rust only slightly. What is the best way to remove this oxide to give a more modern look? I'm not looking to use the tools, but to show in my garage. Any help would be greatly apprecitated. Thank you very much.

Use a wire brush and then a bit of sandpaper, this will eliminate most of the rust. When you have done this cleanse a little machine oil light on the metal to prevent rusting again. All the above will be available from good hardware store.
