How I can prevent my cat from shedding?

I have a shorthaired cat that is about 8 months old. For about the last month has been shedding like crazy. Not now coming loose so than ever before. I brush every day or two with a small brush I got from Walmart hairdressers, but not seem to help at all. What I can do to stop him from shedding so much?

Your kitten is getting older and begins to thicken layer, as an adult cat as does. The thickest layer is normal for a cat of an adolescent or adult, and is why it is losing more.
